We can achieve standard tolerances of ±0.005″ (±0.13mm) for HDPE parts. Tighter tolerances down to ±0.002″ are possible depending on part geometry and size. HDPE’s thermal expansion properties are considered in our machining process to ensure dimensional stability.

Standard lead times for HDPE CNC machining are 3-7 business days for most parts. Complex geometries or large quantities may require additional time. Rush orders can often be accommodated with expedited processing for urgent requirements.

Yes, we offer FDA-compliant HDPE grades that are safe for food contact applications. These materials meet all relevant food safety regulations and are commonly used for cutting boards, food processing equipment, and packaging machinery components.

HDPE has excellent weldability and can be joined using various welding techniques including hot air, ultrasonic, and friction welding. However, it has poor adhesive bonding properties due to its chemical structure. Mechanical fastening is often preferred for assembly applications.

Standard options include as-machined finish with visible tool marks, and bead blasted finish for a uniform matte appearance. HDPE does not accept paint or coatings well due to its low surface energy, so mechanical finishes are typically preferred.

Our CNC machining centers can accommodate HDPE parts up to 1200mm × 800mm × 150mm. Larger parts may be possible through multi-piece construction and assembly. We also offer precision machining for small, intricate components with minimum feature sizes down to 0.8mm.
